Nigeria’s Odion Ighalo might have just hinted that he will remain at Old Trafford for another six months as his latest post suggests he is still at Manchester United.
Multiple sources are reporting that Ighalo has agreed extension of loan with Manchester United until the end of January 2021 but awaits the FA approval.
Ighalo’s six month loan deal supposedly expired at the end of May, but the 30-year-old whose future has become a talking point posted a picture of himself in Manchester United jersey with the caption “happy new month fams,” suggesting he is still with the Premier League club.
UK outlet SunSport earlier reported that Manchester United failed to reach an agreement for Odion Ighalo’s loan extension with Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua.
It was gathered that United have failed to reach an agreement with the Chinese Super League club, and now the Nigerian is poised to return to the Asian country.
Although multiple sources quoting Ighalo’s agent Atta Aneke, has told Nettavisen that Ighalo is close to extending his loan, he said: “We are nearing an agreement with Manchester United on an extended loan. The agreement will mean that Ighalo will remain with them until January 2021.”
Also, according to Telegraph, Manchester United have agreed to extend Odion Ighalo's loan until the end of January 2021. The deal is awaiting confirmation with FA for registration.
The 30-year-old has scored four goals in three starts for the club he has supported since childhood but adding to his eight appearances has been complicated by the coronavirus crisis.
