Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has described Austin Okocha's stunning goal against legendary Oliver Kahn in 1993 as 'the most spectacular goal in the history of German football'.

The former Super Eagles captain was contracted to Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt for four seasons - 1992 to 1996.

Okocha was introduced in the second half of his side's game against Karlsruher SC and the midfielder dribbled mesmerised the opponent's defenders before humiliating the goalkeeper.

The Nigerian icon scored the insurance goal for his side as they went ahead to win the match 3-1 at the end of the game.

Not only was Okocha celebrated, but the goal also went ahead to win the goal of the season by many football magazines.

The goal also won the 1993 Goal of the Year by viewers of Sportschau (an ARD German TV sports programme).

Khan was quoted to have said in 2016 that he still feels dizzy as a result of the dazzling by the former Super Eagles creative midfielder.

While describing the goal scored by the Nigerian star, Klopp said it is why African players are always purchased by top European clubs.

He scored the most spectacular goal in the history of German football,” Klopp said in an interview with The Guardian.

The Reds boss admitted that he has since been fascinated by Africa ever since watching Okocha’s former Frankfurt Ghanaian teammate Anthony Yeboah.

“Yeboah was one of the greatest strikers who played in Germany apart from Gerd Müller. He had a big impact on society.”

Legit.ng earlier reported that ex-Liverpool defender Jim Beglin has named Austin 'Jay Jay' Okocha as his best ever Nigerian player.

The 56-year-old who spent six seasons with the Merseyside outfit made this known during his Q&A session on Twitter tagged #ASKJimBeglin.

Though he never had the chance to play against the Super Eagles legend, the ex-attacker's quality display of skills and good control of the ball must have motivated his decision.
