Ex-Barcelona goalie Victor Valdes has been appointed as the manager of Spanish fourth-tier club Horta based in the autonomous community of Catalonia.

Club president Paco Carmona has announced that the 38-year-old will resume duties next season at the 5,000-capacity home stadium.

The club announced the agreement with the shot stopper on their official Twitter handle with a picture of the former Manchester United no. 1 with a message: “Welcome Victor.

“We hope you have a lot of success and triumphs as the head of our club.”

Valdes who had 20 caps for the Spanish national football team is regarded as one of Barcelona’s greatest goalkeepers. He earlier spent over a season at Manchester United in 2015 as backup for David de Gea.
