Ogun state governor, Dapo Abiodun, recently joined the group of famous Nigerians who have been forced to celebrate their birthday parties online due to the coronavirus pandemic that has stifled activities globally.

The governor clocked the age of 60 on Friday, May 29, and in the absence of a grand birthday ceremony, the politician held a virtual thanksgiving service which was attended by close friends, colleagues and other notable personalities.

"We gathered online today for my virtual 60th Birthday Thanksgiving Service officiated by Pastor Ben Akabueze," the governor wrote in the caption that accompanied a photo post on his official Instagram page.

Among those that joined in celebrating the Ogun governor are Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, business mogul Aliko Dangote, Pastor Eunoch Adeboye among others.

While an actual party could not be thrown, from photos shared by the governor, it was evident that his close family members still made the day very special for him.

Governor Abiodun, his wife and kids were spotted coming together for a group photo with his three-tier birthday cake.

"I am indeed grateful to you all who joined the service in praise of God for how far this journey has come," the celebrant wrote on Instagram.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously gathered that Governor Abiodun lifted the COVID-19 lockdown in Ogun state. The governor noted that the state had been on lockdown for over eight weeks, with the government providing three days of window relaxation in a week.

According to the governor, workers in the state are now allowed to go on their normal businesses between Monday and Friday. Abiodun, however, said that there would be a lockdown in the state on Saturday and Sunday till further.
