Nigerian man loses girlfriend to COVID-19 in Abuja

- A Nigerian man has taken to Twitter to mourn the death of his girlfriend identified as Magana, who died of COVID-19 in Abuja

- The man with the handle @SalmanDuke says the deceased was treating malaria and typhoid before she finally tested positive for COVID-19

- He says he will miss Magana who, according to him, fought hard

A Nigerian man with the handle @SalmanDuke on Twitter has expressed sadness over the passing of his girlfriend identified as Magana, who died of coronavirus in Abuja.

The bereaved man took to the microblogging site to share his pain, saying the lady had been ill and was treating malaria and typhoid until Thursday, May 21, when she tested positive for coronavirus.

Legit.ng notes that the man wrote in a series of tweets on Twitter: ”I just lost a close girlfriend to Covid-19 in Wuye, Abuja, she passed just now.

"It’s sad Covid-19 prevented me from being there when you gave up the ghost, which I’m very sure it was your last wish as you always say “Bobo come and hold me. Magana I will miss you for the rest of my life. The Hausa you thought and all the connections you gave in Abuja.

"I insisted you were exposed to Covid-19, you claimed it was Malaria, you kept treating malaria to typhoid until last week Thursday when things exacerbated and you went for proper checks at the National Hospital and you were tested positive. You really fought hard Magana.”

In other news, as the body of one Babafemi Adebabyo who recently died of coronavirus in Brazil was being bundled, his widow could be seen in a video broken down in tears as she begged him to wake up.

In the video, the woman begged her husband to wake up, saying his mother and children are at home.

The woman said: “Babafemi are you sleeping? Please wake up. Your mother is at home, your children are at home, your elder and younger siblings are at home. Please wake in the name of Jesus. Jesus have mercy on me. Jesus, take pity on me.

“Ahhh, Adebayo. Babafemi. I’m calling you. It’s me calling you, not someone else. Your wife is the one calling you. I ask you to wake up in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. In the name of Jesus Christ, I’m calling you."
