It is indeed a period of celebration for the family members of ex-military president, Ibrahim Babangida, as his first daughter, Aisha, recently clocked the age of 50.

The celebrant who is a daughter of Babangida’s late wife and former first lady Hajia Maryam Babangida, clocked the new age on Monday, May 25.

Taking to social media in a mood of celebration, Aisha in a short note expressed her appreciation to the almighty for granting her the love of family and friends.

“But one thing I do know is that I am eternally grateful to God for blessing me with truly nice InstaFamily. You have been supportive, dedicated, my biggest critic and friends. Thank you for letting me into your space,” her message read in part.

Aisha also shared a video showing close to a dozen of beautifully decorated cakes that were all sprawled out of a large dining table.

At 50, Aisha Babangide has built a formidable profile for herself. She is the chairman of the Better Life Foundation, a former mentor for the Mara Foundation; an ex-director of North Link Insurance Company was once on the governing council of the University of Abuja, among several other organizations.

Some months ago, Legit.ng reported that ex-president Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, made it clear that he was not looking for a new wife as widely speculated. Babangida said he enjoys the company of his children since the death of his wife in 2009. The elder statesman said his children are caring and understanding and have been trying to fit in where their mother has left.
