The innovative pieces wowed netizens and gave a sneak peek on what might be the future of fashion.
Speaking to Teen Vogue, Anifa revealed to have thought about the idea way before the COVID-19 pandemic leading to lockdown.
“The news came out about how serious things were and I started to feel a bit anxious about everything going on. I felt like it would be insensitive to create and share a new collection online while people were facing difficulties,” Anifa said.
The 29-year-old also used the event to bring about a conversation of illegal mining issues especially related to minors in her country.
"I'm so intentionally about everything I do. Every colour used has intention behind it. I wanted people to also do their research and see what these conditions are all about. I want my Congolese pears to see that you can also do it," she added.
The designs and presentation warranted a lot of praise especially during a time when social distancing is recommended.

Another African designer making the continent proud is Nigerian, Kenneth Ize, who made a debut at the Paris Fashion Week on Monday, February 24.
Even more flattering, his dress designs were borrowed from the Kenyan flag colours and worn by famous model Naomi Campbell.
Naomi went on social media to congratulate the designer for the huge opportunity and also for making his Paris debut.
The 29-year-old designer, who has continued to rise as a superstar in the fashion world, heaped praises on the supermodel. He said she had been supporting him from the get-go.
