Security agents chased NIDCOM staff out of office - Dabiri-Erewa
- Staff members of the Nigeria Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) have reportedly been chased out of their Abuja office

Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the chairman of the Nigeria Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) has alleged that some security officials recently chased staff members of the agency from their Abuja office.
Dabiri-Erewa disclosed that the said office at the National Communication Commission (NCC) building in Abuja was allocated to the NIDCOM by the federal government, The Nation reports.
What is even more worrisome is that the NIDCOM boss claimed that the security agents with arms forced personnel of the body out of the office "on the orders of the honourable minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Pantami."

Dabiri-Erewa said: “I was away on an official assignment with Mr President in Addis Ababa when it happened and all my staff members were thrown into the street with all our gadgets, laptops, cameras and working tools trapped in there.
“I have a written petition to complain on this dehumanising treatment by an agency of government against another agency of government."
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the NIDCOM had said Nigerians living in the United Kingdom, United States, China, and other West African countries had been registering for their evacuation back home.
The commission noted that those registering for evacuation would be footing the bill for their flight expenses.
Dabiri-Erewa, the NIDCOM chairperson urged Nigerians who want to be evacuated to notify the Nigerian missions in their respective countries.
Dabiri-Erewa had explained that respective individuals coming back home will bear the financial implications of the evacuation.
The Nigerian Consulate in New York, United States, in response to the directive, announced via a statement on Sunday, April 5, that it had begun compiling names of Nigerians willing to return home.
According to Balogun, interested Nigerians had been sending emails to the commission about the modalities for their evacuation.
