The governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello, is in the mood of celebration after winning his opponent, Musa Wada, at the governorship election tribunal.

Wada, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, had filed a case against the declaration of Bello who belongs to the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the winner of the state’s November 16 governorship election.

In its ruling on Saturday, May 23, in Abuja, the tribunal dismissed the case filed by Wada and upheld the election of Bello.

The three-man panel of judges in a unanimous judgment ruled that Wada's petition lacked merit, asking him to pay N500,000 as costs to the APC and INEC for his frivolous claims.

Some Nigerians are not surprised by the judgement and have taken to their social media pages to share their opinion.

Congratulatory messages are pouring in for the governor who is currently trending on the popular microblogging app, Twitter.

According to Akoje Kevin, the tribunal's verdict is a memorable way to end the Ramadan and usher in a glorious Eid celebration.

He further prayed for God to bless Kogi and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Some are happy that the will of the people of Kogi has been upheld.

Dr Wiliams Toyin cannot help but put on his dancing shoes.

Abiodun Bello is adding salt to the injury of PDP, asking the opposition to pay up the N500,000 the tribunal asked it to. He also congratulated the Kogi governor, the APC and its members.

Looks like the victory of Bello is making this social media user very happy and he cannot hide the joy.
