Black Stars of Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan is sponsoring the construction of a rough road in an area in Accra.
The name of the specific area is yet to be known, however, Gyan has revealed in an Instagram live video on Sunday, May 17, that he’s paying for the full cost of constructing the road.
According to Asamoah Gyan, the raining season has made the road inaccessible for motorists, hence his decision to construct it with his own funds.
“These are the petty petty ways we can also help,” he noted.
Asamoah Gyan was present at the site where the project is taking place.
The 34-year-old was there to inspect and make sure the work is going on smoothly.
Asamoah Gyan is the all-time leading goalscorer of the Ghana national team with 51 goals.
Known for his famous dance and his no.3 jersey, Asamoah Gyang is the top African goalscorer in the history of the World Cup with six goals.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Manchester United Premier League and Champions League winner in 2007/2008 season Owen Hargreaves says he would be surprised if Odion Ighalo leaves the club at the end of this month.
According to Hargreaves, Ighalo who was a shock loan signing for Man United in January, has done enough to be handed a permanent deal.
Ighalo has had a successful loan spell at Man United after arriving from Shanghai Shenhua.
The 30-year-old Nigeria striker scored four goals in his first eight appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils to prove his critics wrong.
But with the former Watford striker’s six-month loan deal set to run out at the end of this month, Shanghai Shenhua are reportedly willing to allow Ighalo join Man United for £20m.
It is left to be seen if Man United will meet their demands especially with Marcus Rashford back from injury.
However, Hargreaves expects Man United to sign Ighalo permanently as he brings qualities neither Marcus Rashford or Anthony Martial have.
