In Africa and many other societies, women have been known to be on the receiving end of gifts and kind gestures and the same cannot seem to be said for their male counterparts.
It is often assumed that men are not really bothered by these fancy gestures not being done for them. Some ladies in relationships have also become so accustomed to collecting that they never reciprocate the gesture to their man.
A young Nigerian lady identified as Bibi Babatunde-Ikotun has taken to social media to share her take on the discussion as she shared her observation.
According to Bibi, many men in relationships have never received gifts or birthday cakes. She also said that such a gesture being shown to them, even if it is small, can make them cry because they realise that they always give without receiving.
The young lady then urged the female folk to do better and spoil their men even when they say birthdays are no big deal.
She wrote: “Men are suffering ooo, many of them have never received birthday cake or even present before.
Small cake will make them so emotional because they realized they always give without receiving.
Do better women and spoil your baby even if he says birthdays are not a big deal.”
