Buhari commiserates with Oladipo Diya over wife’s death

- President Buhari has mourned the death of Diya's wife

In another blow to influential people in Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari has mourned the death of Deborah Folashade Diya.

She was a wife of former chief of general staff, retired Lt.-Gen. Oladipo Diya.

Buhari prayed that the almighty God will comfort the family.

This was disclosed by Femi Adesina in Abuja on Wednesday, May 20.

Recall that Legit.ng had reported the death of Folashade, the younger wife of Nigeria's Diya. Members of Diya's household including the former chief of general staff are now under isolation.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that Buhari commiserated with members of his extended family and Daura community at large over the death of his nephew, Alhaji Mutari Dauda.

Legit.ng gathered that the Nigerian leader in a statement issued on Friday, May 8, by his media aide, Garba Shehu, prayed that Allah forgives his gentle soul and rewards his goods deeds with aljanna.

Mutari Dauda Daura was the younger brother of the president's 81-year-old nephew, Malam Mamman Daura who died on Friday.

Legit.ng previously reported that Buhari on Wednesday, May 6, had a telephone conversation with the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Yusuf Buratai, commiserating with him over the passing of his mother, Hajiya Hauwa Yusuf Buratai.

Malam Garba Shehu, the president’s spokesman in a statement in Abuja on Wednesday, quoted the President to have condoled with all members of the family, praying that the almighty God would receive the soul of the departed matriarch, who lived a pious, prayerful and generous life.

Legit.ng also reported that Nigeria lost one of its top medical doctors in the diaspora Alfa Saadu, who was in the United Kingdom taking care of persons infected with COVID-19, also called coronavirus.

It was reported that some of those who know the medical doctor, are currently mourning him on social media.

He had joined the UK medical personnel as a volunteer when the virus broke out in the country. He later got infected. One of such mourners called him a brilliant and eloquent gentleman.
