- Wayne Rooney is no doubt a golf enthusiast
- The Manchester United legend has been spotted playing the game on several occasions
- The 34-year-old has now concluded plans to build a full-hole golf course on the 120 acres of land in Cheshire
Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney appears to have concluded plans to build a golf course on his 120 acres country home grounds.
The 34-year-old who currently plays for Championship side Derby County lives in the £20 million mansion.
SunSport reports that the former England international wants full-length holes with pitch and putt course and a driving range.
The former DC United star already has a football field on the ground where he, his wife, and four children play outdoor in their Cheshire. He equally has two fishing lakes at the front of the property.
Meanwhile, a source close to the family revealed: “Wayne is golf mad and his older sons enjoy the game as well. “He’s got a little putting area at his current place.
"But with all the land available at his new place, the gardeners and designers will have free reign. "He wants a couple of full-length holes with bunkers, water features, buggies — the lot.”
The former Red Devils star was said to have acquired the property for about £4.3million initially but the could amount up to £20million when work has been perfected on it next year.
Following his return to England from the United States earlier this year. his wife Coleen wanted their four boys to grow up nearer home in Cheshire.
Despite playing alongside Ronaldo at Man United, Rooney believes Messi makes football look so easy, Mirror reports.
There have been several debates on who the better player is between Messi and Ronaldo as the duo have won 11 Ballon d’Ors between themselves.
However, Rooney’s statement might not go down well with fans of his former club Manchester United as Ronaldo at some point in his career wore the jersey of the club.
