A video has made the rounds on social media showing the moment a nurse was nabbed and accused of trying to steal a baby.

According to reports shared on social media, the nurse had tried to carry the newborn baby boy far away from the hospital and she was nabbed and surrounded by the angry crowd who questioned her actions.

In the video, the nurse, who was identified because of her uniform, was seen carrying a newborn baby wrapped in a cloth as she clutched him tightly to her chest.

When asked by someone in the crowd, the nurse said she was from Mother of Mercy hospital and claimed to be taking the child to its mother. The crowd obviously did not buy her story because according to them, nobody is allowed to take a newborn baby out of the hospital.

The incident reportedly happened in Upper Iweka, Onitsha, Anambra state.
