- Willy Caballero will remain with the Blues for another one year
- Chelsea also confirm that former Arsenal star Giroud has also extended his contract with them
- Frank Lampard is hoping both stars will help in their quest for a Champions League spot
Reports coming from Stamford Bridge have it that goalkeeper Willy Caballero as well as striker Olivier Giroud will remain at the club for another one year respectively.
Argentine goalkeeper Caballero who have featured for the Blues nine times this season reportedly signed a contract extension back in April during the lockdown.
This implies that the goalie will now be having a fourth season at the Stamford Bridge club where he already won the Europa League and the FA Cup.
“I am very happy to make this announcement. It is a difficult time for everyone right now so I feel blessed by this opportunity and truly appreciate it," Caballero told Chelseafc.com
Also, Olivier Giroud reportedly activated his one year contract extension with the club back in April ensuring his two-and-a-half-year stay at Stamford Bridge which was due to end at the conclusion of the current campaign will continue.
“I’m looking forward to wearing the Chelsea shirt again, especially in front of our fans at a full Stamford Bridge, whenever it is safe to do so," Giroud said.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are reportedly unmoved with Odion Ighalo returning to his Chinese base club Shanghai Shenhua next month.
The Nigerian star joined the Red Devils on a short term loan deal earlier this year as a back up for injured Marcus Rashford.
And his short stay at Old Trafford has been nothing but memorable having scored four goals and one assist in eight appearances across competitions as reported by UK Express.
However, Legit.ng earlier reported that Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has signed a new deal to remain at the Allianz Arena until the summer of 2023.
The 34-year-old FIFA World Cup winner joined the Bavarians in 2011 in a deal valued around €30 million and has grown through the ranks at the club.
He has gone ahead to win seven Bundesliga titles, one Champions League among several other silverware.
Neuer was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge as Frank Lampard wanted to sign him for Chelsea this summer.
