Former Real Madrid and Barcelona star Robert Prosinecki has claimed that Barcelona captain Lionel Messi is the greatest footballer of all time stressing that no one can be compared with him.

The 51-year-old also believes that Lionel Messi is even ahead Basketball legend Michael Jordan in the list of sporting greats.

For more than 10 years now, Lionel Messi's greatest rival in football is Cristiano Ronaldo in which fans always involve themselves in debates and talks on who is the best between these two.

Lionel Messi has won six Ballon d'Or awards so far in his career, while Cristiano Ronaldo has won five with only World Cup remaining for these two players yet to be won.

Before retiring from basketball, Michael Jordan was also one of the finest players in the game considering his achievements.

But Robert Prosinecki stated emphatically that the American is still below Lionel Messi on the ranking of sporting greats.

"It is different, basketball and football, but Messi is surely for me the best.

"He is a player who has made differences for many years in Barcelona. He has won everything he could win.

''Messi scored many goals and assisted many times too. He plays different football to the others." Prosinecki told Stats Perform News.

Robert Prosinecki also applauded Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo claiming that the Juventus forward is also a great player.
