COVID-19 task force officers disrupt wedding in Calabar, Nigerians react (video)

The video of a wedding ceremony that was disrupted by COVID- 19 task forces has been going viral on social media as Nigerians are talking about it.

In the video, some taskforce officers were seen entering a church filled with people. As soon as the crowd in the building saw the officers, they took to their heels.

It was reported that the ceremony took place at the Christ Apostolic Church in Calabar, the capital of Cross River state on Saturday, May 16, 2020.

The wedding service was still ongoing when the task force officers stepped into the church. The new couple also took to their heels when they sighted the officers.

The bride was spotted in her beautiful white dress, a hand fan in her hand, and her arms locked into her groom's arms as they quietly walked out of the church building.

Just as the crowd dispersed, the COVID- 19 task force officials confronted the pastors.

To avoid the spread of the deadly coronavirus infection, citizens have been advised to stay away from crowdy places. In fact, a maximum number of 20 people are only permitted to gather in a place with proper adherence to social distancing instruction.

However, the couple and their guests flouted the rule thereby incurring the visitation of the officers who have been tasked with the responsibility of ensuring that people adhere to the laid down rules.
