Buhari receives briefing from Presidential Task Force on COVID-19

President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday, May 17, received briefing from members of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 at the State House, Abuja.
This was contained in a tweet by Bashir Ahmad, the personal assistant to the president on new media, on his Tweeter handle, @BashirAhmaad.
Legit.ng gathered that the Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF), and chairman of the Task Force, Boss Mustapha led the delegation to meet with the president.
The task force met with the president to update him on developments of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the country.
Those present at the meeting include the Director-General, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu, minister of health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, and the DG National Agency for Control of Aids Dr. Sani Aliyu.
The briefing is coming after Nigeria's leader received the much-talked-about herbal drug. The presidency confirmed this on Saturday, May 16 in a tweet by a special assistant to the Nigerian president on social media.
According to Ahmad, President Buhari will not allow anything that will hurt Nigerians as a result, he would suggest the drug to proper scientifically tests before approving its use.
According to Ahmad, President Buhari said the necessary institutions must carry out their various tests on the drug.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the Nigerian presidency denied that the country's leader is breaking any safety rules by not wearing face masks.
The denial was made on Saturday, May 16 by Lauretta Onochia, Buhari's aide on social media in a singular tweet. According to Onochie, President Buhari has no need to wear face masks because he operates from his own safe environment within the presidential villa, Aso Rock.
Visitors, she said, are the ones expected to wear face masks to protect whoever they are visiting from catching whatever infections they may have.
