More good news continues to spread concerning coronavirus as the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, has successfully delivered a third COVID-19 patient of a baby.

Legit.ng gathered that a team of doctors and nurses delivered a 33-year-old COVID-19 patient of a baby boy via caesarean section on Thursday, May 14.

This was disclosed on Friday, May 15, in a tweet via the official twitter handle of the teaching hospital @LUTHofficial.

Recall that LUTH had on Saturday, May 9, delivered a 37-year-old woman of a baby boy and a 40-year-old COVID-19 patient of a baby girl on Monday, April 27.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a 29-year-old mother died of coronavirus just days after giving birth - before ever getting to see her baby. Fozia Hanif had just celebrated her 29th birthday when her ventilator was turned off in Birmingham Heartlands Hospital.

After losing a child during her first pregnancy in 2019, Fozia made sure she was going to the hospital for regular maternity check-ups during her second pregnancy.

In a related development, there was initial confusion, then sudden joy as one of the stranded Nigerians being evacuated to the country from Dubai amid COVID-19 put to bed aboard a flight.

The woman, whose name was given as Kafayat Amusan, was on a journey with other Nigerians being assisted to return to Lagos by the federal government when the incident happened.

The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) said this in a statement it released in the evening of Wednesday, May 6.

Similarly, LUTH announced the delivery of a set of twins from an elderly couple. The hospital shared the good news on Sunday, April 19, 2020.

Taking to its official page on the popular micro-blogging platform, Twitter, the hospital gave more details about the new parents and the birth of the twins.

LUTH explained that the mother of the twins is a 68-year-old woman. According to the medical facility, the woman got pregnant for the first time and she was successfully delivered of her twin children.
