Senator Andy Uba has congratulated Professor Ibrahim Gambari on his appointment as President Muhammadu Buhari's new chief of staff.
In a statement made available to journalists on Thursday, May 14, Senator Uba observed that Gambari's credentials as a renowned diplomat, academic scholar, and former minister will help advance President Buhari's development agenda for the nation.
“Professor Ibrahim Gambari is one of the best minds we have in Nigeria,” he said.

“His academic credentials coupled with his diplomatic experience as Nigeria's former Ambassador to the United Nations will provide the impetus needed to advance President Buhari's development agenda for the nation.
“I do not doubt that as chief of staff, Professor Gambari will advise the president on policies and programs that will be of utmost benefit to the Nigerian people,” he added.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain added that as a former minister, Gambari will blend perfectly well with cabinet members.
“Being a former external affairs minister, he will have no problems conveying minister's requests to the president,” he added.
Professor Gambari, an indigene of Kwara state replaced Late Mallam Abba Kyari who died of COVID-19 on Friday, April 17.
Similarly, Kogi state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello in a statement issued on Wednesday, May 13 by his chief press secretary, Onogwu Muhammed, described Gambari as a man of many parts whose vast wealth of knowledge and experience remain unrivalled in the African continent.
He said as a thoroughbred scholar and seasoned career diplomat who had served in various capacities both at home and on the international scene particularly at the United Nations, Gambari's appointment was no doubt a round peg in a round hole.
In a related development, the ruling APC said the appointment of Professor Gambari has demonstrated President Buhari's avowed commitment to good governance by bringing on board competent Nigerians from all parts of the world to assist him.
“Gambari's experience and suitability for the strategic office of chief of staff is not in doubt. Indeed, Professor Gambari ticks all the boxes as a round peg in a round hole,” the party said in a statement by its national publicity secretary, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu.
