Four talented black women in the music industry recently got people on social media buzzing after attaining a great feat and also making history.
These four women who include Doja Cat, Nicki Minaj, Beyonce and Megan Thee Stallion, cinched the top spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, a first in history for solo artistes.
This group of women made history after topping the US music chart. The last time anything close to their feat happened was 10 years ago when Beyonce’s Single Ladies cinched the number one spot on the list and TI’s Live Your Life featuring Rihanna was on number two.
This year, Doja Cat’s Say So featuring Nicki Minaj was number one on the Hot 100 chart while Megan Thee Stallion’s Savage remix featuring Beyonce was on the number two spot.
According to Billboard, it is the first time four or more black female solo artistes have secured the top two spots.
Megan Thee Stallion took to her Twitter page to acknowledge the notable event as she expressed happiness about being a part of the history that was made.
