- Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be keen to make more signings when the transfer window reopens
- Midfield and striking options remain the key departments the Norwegian will be out to strengthen
- Timo Werner and Jadon Sancho headline a long list of players in the Bundesliga Man United have been linked with
Man United's desire to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho is an open secret, but there are still a number of other star players in the Bundesliga the club could tempt to move to the Premier League.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is understood to be keen to complete a number of signings this summer as he looks to challenge for the league title next season.
Whereas he has already managed to make a multimillion transfers including Bruno Fernandes and Harry Maguire, it is believed Solskjaer will still be in the market for fresh legs.
The Red Devils have already been linked with a number of players ahead of the window transfer, with most of the targets predominantly from the Bundesliga.
Legit.ng now takes a look at top five Bundesliga players the Manchester club could convince to switch to Old Trafford:
1. Jadon Sancho
Transfer talks between United and Sancho's representatives are thought to have been going on for months now ahead of an official bid.
And despite Ed Woodward declaring it is unlikely United makes big-money transfers this summer, Sancho's numbers at Dortmund could be tempting enough for any club to splash the cash.
The England international already has 14 goals and 15 assists to his name this season and could add more to the tally when the German top-flight league resumes.
Man United were favourites to sign the Norwegian wonderkid before Dortmund snapped him up during the January window transfer.
While chances for a fresh move this summer are pretty minimal, it is highly likely the Red Devils will be keeping an eye on the striker's progress.
3. Kai Havertz
At just 20, the Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder has already made a name for himself in European football.
Last season, he netted a staggering 20 goals to guide his side to the Champions League.
Chelsea and Liverpool are the other Premier League sides to join United in the race to sign the German star.
4. Dayot Upamecano
It is no doubt United have recorded significant improvement at the back, but another addition in Upamecano would surely be welcome.
The 21-year-old RB Leipzig centre-back will be out of contract in 2021 putting several clubs including Arsenal on red alert.
5. Timo Werner
With Man United's desire to add more depth upfront, Timo Werner could be an excellent addition.
The Leipzig forward has found the back of the net 27 times to alert Europe's top clubs.
Liverpool remain the hot favourites to secure his services, but rivals United could possibly fancy joining the race.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Carlos Vinicius has emerged as a top transfer target for Man United, with the Premier League club offering a mouthwatering £35million for the Brazilian.
The Benfica striker has been fine shape for the Portuguese side this season, finding the back of the net 20 times in 33 matches in all competitions.
