Black-ish star Jennifer Lewis has opened up on how a man she thought was her gift from God conned her of a cool N19m.

The talented actress revealed she was seduced to invest in a business that never existed by someone she believed to have been in love with.

Speaking in an interview with ABC News, Lewis said she was captivated after meeting the man, 57-year-old Antonio Mariot Wilson, during a gym session in 2015.

"He said he had graduated from Oxford University, he said he had been in the Navy Seal, I'm thinking, 'My God, He sent a man," she said in the interview.

The actress dated the supposed lover for about three months at a time when her acting career was back to life.

The actress was lured into investing N19m into a business that never existed, saying she was investing in a dream.

Lewis soon realised that she was not alone as the man had conned other women of more than N150m and was recently convicted of fraud.

"I'm speaking out because I care, how can this happen to me, educated, world travelled, successful in the show business and was conned $50,000?. I was embarrassed, humiliated, but I stood up for other women," Lewis added.

Wilson pleaded guilty on Friday, May 8, to conning four women of millions of shillings while working as a gym manager in California, US.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng gathered the report of a Nigerian lady identified as _peesee on Twitter who shared how a man who claimed to be from her bank tried to scam her. The man had asked for her card number and email address. The alleged scammer ended up sending Peesee airtime to enable her send her details.
