Odion Ighalo set for Shanghai Shenhua return after Man United loan spell

- Odion Ighalo appears to have played his last game for Manchester United

- The Red Devils are hoping they can get permission from Shanghai Shenhua to keep him until the end of the season

- The China club is proposing a permanent deal worth around £20m for the retired Super Eagles star or forget about him

Nigerian football star could be heading back to China after both Shanghai Shenhua and Manchester United failed to reach an agreement over his loan extension.

The 30-year-old's initial temporary stay at Old Trafford expires at the end of this month but the Red Devils want to keep the striker until the season is over.

Football action in England has been on suspension since mid-March following the overbreak of deadly coronavirus which has forced the season to be elongated.
