- Odion Ighalo could be replaced with on loan Man United striker Alexis Sanchez
- Reports claim United would result to the Chilean if they do not meet Shanghai Shenhua's £20m asking price
- Sanchez is not also having a smooth spell at Inter Milan after struggling with injury problems
Odion Ighalo could be let off the hook by Man United if they fail to reach Shanghai Shenhua's £20million asking price for the Nigerian striker.
United legend Gary Neville recently spoke about the 30-year-old's price claiming the money was too expensive for his age.
Ighalo made a January switch from his Chinese side to have another spell in the English Premier League for the second time in his career.
And despite scoring four goals in eight appearances so far Neville is still in doubt about the former Watford striker's worth.
Neville said on Instagram Live: "Is Ighalo worth £20m?
"Probably not in this market. He may have been if he continued before scoring goals but you probably don’t need now to spend £20m."
But according to British news media outlet Daily Star, Red Devils are looking to bring back Alexis Sanchez from his loan spell at Inter Milan.
After failing to make an impression under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Chilean striker was sent on loan to Serie A.
Sanchez has struggled with injury problems at Inter and only returned to action after missing some parts of the season under Antonio Conte's watch.
The 31-year-old's only goal for the Nerazzurri was against Sampdoria in October 2019 and has not found the net since his return to action.
Sanchez would need to compete with United's forwards including Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford who are currently having impressive campaigns at Old Trafford.
He joined United in a swap deal for Henrikh Mkhitaryan in January 2018, having scored 80 goals in 166 appearances for Arsenal.
But the former Barcelona star has only managed to score five goals since his high profile move from north London.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Odion Ighalo has been on the edge to return to full training as he was seen training in a Cheshire Park on Monday, May 11, 2020.
The Nigerian striker was spotted doing some drills after the government announced that the Premier League would return on June 1, 2020, with matches played behind closed doors.
The Manchester United star wore his No.25 shorts with a red shirt and a white Nike trainers in the park.
