Chelsea will reportedly make a move for West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice should they lose N'Golo Kante this summer.

Kante is being tracked by Real Madrid who are keen to snap up the Frenchman from Stamford Bridge as they look to add more depth in the midfield.

Recently, Blues boss Frank Lampard admitted his side had hugely missed the services of Kante who was largely sidelined with injuries during the currently suspended campaign.

The former Leicester City star has been a standout squad member at Chelsea where he has established himself as one of the finest midfielders in the world.

Whereas he is understood not to be keen to leave, reports in the UK contend the World Cup-winning star has moved ahead of Paul Pogba on Madrid's transfer shortlist.

Meanwhile, Rice is largely viewed as perfect replacement for Kante at Chelsea having emerged as a regular with the Hammers.

The youngster joined West Ham after he was released by the Blues when he was 14 but has blossomed at the David Moyes-tutored club to attract interest from several clubs including Man United.
