Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte reportedly shown interest in signing embattled Manchester United star Paul Pogba this summer.
The midfielder has featured lesser than usual for the Red Devils this season owing to the nagging ankle injury he has been battling since late last year.
Pogba has made just eight appearances with two assists credited to his name across all competitions so far this campaign.
And the arrival of Bruno Fernandes from Portuguese side Sporting CP has further complicated things for the Frenchman.
Although his former club Juventus are not giving up their chase for his signature, they will have to meet United's demands on their record signing.
Real Madrid made attempts to land him last summer but the two clubs failed to reach an agreement before the window shut.
Now they have Federico Valverde, an Uruguayan star who seems to have made the La Liga club forget about their target.
