Lagos state government has said that forty-eight (48) additional coronavirus patients have fully recovered, bringing the total number of discharged cases from the pandemic in the state to 406.
Legit.ng reports that Professor Akin Abayomi, the state commissioner for health, disclosed this on Friday, May 8, via his official Twitter page @ProfAkinAbayomi.
The newly discharged patients, sixteen (16) females and thirty-two (32) males are all Nigerians.
He recalled that 183 new COVID-19 infections were confirmed in Lagos on Thursday, May 7, making the total number of confirmed cases in the state 1,507.
This development is coming after the Lagos state government recorded two additional coronavirus related deaths, bringing the total number of deaths associated with the pandemic in the state to 33.
The state commissioner for health disclosed this on Thursday, May 7, on his Twitter page. He recalled that 82 new cases of COVID-19 infection were confirmed on Wednesday, May 6, making the total number of confirmed cases in the state to be 1,324.
The commissioner also said 37 additional fully recovered #COVID19 patients comprising 19 females and 18 males, including an Indian were discharged on Wednesday, having tested negative twice consecutively.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that the Lagos state commissioner for health described as fake news, the reports making the rounds that he was tested positive to the coronavirus pandemic.
Abayomi who confirmed the case of 10 staff of the Lagos state Government House, urged the public to disregard the report that he was also tested positive to the Covid-19.
The commissioner, in a Tweet on his twitter page @ProfAkinAbayomi, on Friday, May 8, said that he is hale and hearty, in good health, and has continued in his capacity as the deputy incident commander of the COVID-19.
