Roberta Hannah, a high school senior from Massachusetts, has become an example of black excellence after she got accepted to all eight Ivy League Schools.
The Springfield High School of Science and Technology student has a lot to celebrate after attaining such an admirable feat.
Hannah’s recent accomplishment provides a breath of freshness at a time when nations across the world are experiencing much doom amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Legit.ng gathered from essence.com that the stellar senior has indicated that her honours and AP classes prepared her for this moment.
Hannah is currently studying as usual as she readies for her seven AP exams.
Essence.com also reports that the young genius, who spoke to Western Mass, said she knew early on that she was accepted into four, but after Ivy Day, which is celebrated on March 26, it was confirmed that she would have her pick of some of the best colleges in the United States.
Hannah said she was originally going to apply to three but her mom and sister urged her to apply to all eight Ivy League Schools.
She gives much-deserved credit to her mom and sister for moulding her into the high-achieving student she is today.
The student-athlete, who, according to AthleticNet, has had an impressive, high school track and field career, plans to attend Columbia University and major in Biochemistry and African-American studies.
“My goal is to be a medicinal chemist,” Hannah said.
However, she wants to focus on increasing accessibility and making medicine more affordable.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that a family from Florida, USA who were not willing to let the achievement of their kin go without being celebrated because of Covid-19 lockdown came up with a clever method of celebration.
Trent Johnson's school’s graduation ceremony had to be cancelled due to increased Covid-19 infections in the country.
That left him in shock and he was completely disappointed by the sudden turn of events. He was officially a doctor but could not mark the occasion with his friends and family.
