The founder of LoveWorld Incorporated, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, has questioned the search for a COVID-19 vaccine across the world.
The cleric, who addressed his congregation in a telecast, wondered how it is possible to have a vaccine ready in July for a virus scientists claimed they are still studying.
He said: "A virus they told us they are still studying, they are still studying it. Why don't they study it first? They are still studying it. And they already have a vaccine that could be ready in July."
Oyakhilome also expressed his displeasure over closure of churches due to the deadly coronavirus.
He said: "Do you know what it means to shut down the congregations of God, do you know what that means? It never meant anything to you, that's why. It never meant anything to you.
"And there were pastors and ministers that were sending strong warnings to others not to venture to enter a church because of the virus. Because Christ has never truly been your Lord. You've been the master of your life all these years. You've never truly known him, you've never known him.
"So, ministers of God gathered together and shut down the congregations of the Lord. How many said let us pray, give us time to pray?"
The family, who made the disclosure in a statement, said Soaga is in high spirit.
The statement which was signed by Kehinde Soaga read: “The Family of Alhaj Ayinde Soaga, GM, NTA Katsina appreciates the numerous phone calls and concern raised about the report as regards his testing positive to COVID 19.
“We wish to confirm that he is in high spirit not bedridden as he personally called in the NCDC officials to carry out the test on him."
