The head of the Association of Resident Doctors at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Abubakar Nagoma, said that patients have not been honest enough
Ten medical doctors working at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano, have tested positive for coronavirus.
The development was made known by the chairman of the Association of Resident Doctors in the hospital, Dr Abubakar Nagoma, The Sun reports.
He informed journalists in the state that the health officials were infected during the course of their work, adding that some consultants were also among those who tested positive.
Out of the 10 people, eight have been moved to isolation centre, while the remaining two are self-quarantined in their homes.
Abubakar also said that 100 staffers of the hospital were tested last week, adding that some of the causes of the incident were that some patients were not entirely truthful about the information they provide, while others never used face masks during their medical visit.
He added that a part of the cause was because PPEs were also not enough. The medical chief said that doctors in the hospitals would stop attending to patients.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that a Nigerian Twitter user with the handle @_iamhistory has lamented the slow pace of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in releasing the result of his aunt's and husband's Covid-19 tests.
The person said that he had to tweet at the centre on Twitter because of the frustration the long wait for the result has caused.
In a tweet on Friday, May 1, he said it has been four days since the tests were taken and their health is becoming worse.
To paint how horrible the whole situation is, the Twitter user said that the affected people have got kids. He, therefore, appealed to Nigerians on the social media platform to beg NCDC to hasten the release of the result.

In other news, the head pastor of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Movement, Pastor Lazarus Muoka, reportedly said that coronavirus could be crushed in a minute if churches were allowed to reopen.
He said that world leaders made a very wrong move by closing down churches. In a video shared on the church’s official Facebook page, he said God allowed the pandemic to happen so that many can return to His kingdom.
The cleric said that the devil took advantage of the virus, making people look for solutions everywhere except God.
