On April 30, 2020, reports made the rounds that talented and energetic video vixen, Love Divine, also known as Picture Kodak, had died.
The young lady reportedly died at the home/studio of ace video director, Clarence Peters.
According to reports, the dancer died while charging her phone after a dance session at the director’s studio.
The Nigerian police have now spoken up about the detention of Clarence Peters. Legit.ng had earlier reported that the director was in custody alongside others as the police investigate the dancer’s demise.
Speaking with Premium Times, the spokesperson for the Lagos state police command, Bala Elkana, said that Clarence Peters is still in their custody as they investigate Kodak’s death.
He said: “My response has been clear. Do we have him in custody, I say we do. Why do you have him in custody? We are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of the dancer.
“We are also waiting for the autopsy result. Investigation is a natural cause. It is important for him and it is also good for any other person who was there. If nobody has a hand in it, the report will clear everybody. If the result says it is a murder case, the law will take its cause. That is exactly why we have him, that is exactly what we are doing”.
Just recently, Legit.ng reported that Clarence Peters has shared his side of events days after Picture Kodak's death.
Reiterating the statement of his crew member that he wasn't at the scene of the incident, the videographer said that his attention was called for and he was told that she collapsed.
He explained that the people who were at the scene of the sad incident said that she was electrocuted and her phone was found on her chest, with severe burn marks, and the phone’s imprint on her chest.
Clarence said that the witnesses were taken to the Ojodu Police Headquarters straight from the hospital where their statements were taken and Kodak's phone, which had traces of burnt flesh on it, was deposited. He also noted that no one was charged or arrested by the police.
