- Salomon Kalou has caused uproar in the Bundesliga
- The Ivorian international was seen flouting coronavirus guidelines on Facebook Live
- His action might see the Bundesliga's plan crash and burn before it even gets off the ground
In his Facebook Live on Monday afternoon, May 4, the Ivorian international Salomon Kalou was seen alongside some other stars flouting strict coronavirus hygiene rules and mocking the testing, Daily Mail reports.
The former Chelsea star currently plays for German club Hertha BSC and now seven more Bundesliga have contracted the infection.
Many describe Kalou’s video as awful as they allege that it could force the government to take further stringent decision as regards the resumption of the league.
Players in Germany are expecting a decision from the government in the coming days and are hoping for green light from Angela Merkel and fellow politicians.
But the Facebook live by Kalou might yet see the Bundesliga's plan crash and burn before it even gets off the ground.
There was widespread shock as regards the video on Monday afternoon, May 4, with the veteran player fist-bumping and clapping hands with team-mates, as well as barging in on another player's coronavirus test.
In another section of the since-deleted video, Kalou walks in on a Hertha staff member working at a computer, shaking his hand and talking to him for a matter of seconds.
This is coming barely two weeks that Tottenham players Serge Aurier and Moussa Sissoko broke the coronavirus lockdown rules a fortnight before club manager Jose Mourinho was blasted for doing the same.
Aurier had posted a video of himself having a mask on while training with his Spurs’ team-mate Sissoko before he quickly deleted it. "Work with my bro," the Ivorian captioned the post in French.
The club spokesman has however stated that the pair would be punished as the team will do everything to adhere to guidelines as advised by front line health workers. “We shall be speaking to both players involved,” he said.
Both players have however apologised: "We wish to apologise for not setting the right example here," they said.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Moise Kean has been heavily criticised following his raunchy party with several models in the UK amid the rampaging coronavirus pandemic, BBC reports.
The 20-year-old was seen in a video partying hard as several models were shown lapdancing and touching men in sensitive parts of their bodies.
Kean himself was alleged to have posted the video to a private channel on Snapchat where he added the caption “quarantine clean”.
