According to French news media outlet Le Parisen, Macron wants the Premier League, La Liga and Serie A to declare their respective leagues null and void.
The Dutch Eredivisie and Belgian Jupiler leagues have also canceled their 2019-20 campaigns and would start a new season by September.
La Parisen reports that discussion are already underway between the French Sports Minister Roxana Maracineanu and their European counterparts
Serie A sides are expected to resume training from 4th May as the country starts to lift some restrictions in the country.
But Italy Sports Minister Vincenzo Spadafora has refused to rule out the possibility that the country could also cancel the league just like other European countries.
"The decisions that are in the process of being taken in other countries, like in France, could push Italy to follow this position, which could then become a European position," he said.
