The woman noted that she has six children and while she can bear the pangs of hunger, she cannot watch her children suffer the same fate.

After engaging the women, the ex-lawmaker advised them to try and return to their homes so as not to put themselves in a position of contracting coronavirus.

This was followed by him whipping out a bundle of cash from his pocket and giving out the sum of N10k each to the hawkers.

Sharing the video, Melaye noted that hawkers are not immune to the virus and as such, they should please stay in their homes.

Just recently, Legit.ng reported that Melaye shared a post on Instagram in which he talked about how he has been caring for his debtors amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

Melaye said he gave out hand sanitisers and face masks to his debtors. He added that he also calls them on a daily basis to check on them. This, according to the politician, is to prevent them from telling stories when it is time to pay their debts.
