Former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas is delighted to learn that his grandmother has made full recovery from deadly coronavirus.

The former Barcelona and Chelsea attacker shared the good news on his official Twitter handle with the picture of the 95-year-old smiling for the camera.

He revealed that her test results came back earlier this week and it was negative, saying: "She has overcome the coronavirus with 95 years.

The 32-year-old midfielder is, however, grateful to all the caregivers who treated her, adding that her recovery would not have been made possible without their help.

"Yesterday the test came out negative! My great-grandmother is a superheroine, but none of this would be possible without the help of all the nurses and doctors who are leaving life at every moment so that all of us can be better and live a little better in these difficult times.

The Spaniard has equally been on lockdown with his family in France owing to the ravaging nature of COVID-19.
