COVID-19 lockdown: WHO lists 5 important times to wash your hands

Barring any last-minute decision, the lockdown Lagos, Ogun and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) will be eased by Monday, May 4.

After one month of staying at home to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, residents of these states will be going out to work again, though under a new curfew restriction; as stated by President Muhammadu Buhari in his nationwide broadcast on Monday, April 27.

While some applauded the president's decision to ease the lockdown, many have expressed worries that Nigeria may see a rise in COVID-19 cases, particularly in Lagos where it is practically difficult to maintain social/physical distancing.

Following the president's speech, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state reiterated that it is compulsory for residents going out to wear face masks to prevent contagion.

He also enjoined Lagosians to practise other preventive measures such as regular hand washing and social distancing.

As Nigerians in Lagos, Ogun and Abuja prepare to resume work and business activities on Monday, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has listed five important times for everyone to wash their hands to prevent COVID-19 spread.
