Coronavirus: Delta state records another COVID-19 death

- The unidentified patient died on Saturday, April 25, as the death toll rises to 44 in Nigeria
- Earlier, the Delta state governor announced that two COVID-19 patients now test negative
Another COVID-19 death has been recorded in Delta state as a patient who tested positive for the virus died on Saturday, April 25, The Nation reports.
Legit.ng gathered that infographics released on Wednesday, April 29, by the Delta Ministry of Information showed an update on COVID-19 cases in the state.
Recall that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday, April 28, confirmed the seventh case of coronavirus in Delta, however, it was gathered that the deceased is the new case.
Though the identity of the victim has not yet been released, the patient was said to have gone to the isolation centre in Central Hospital, Warri.

The patient was reportedly asked to go home after samples were collected by NCDC officials. By the time the State Taskforce on COVID-19 contacted the family of the deceased after receiving the result, they were told the patient had passed away.
Delta state governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, had announced that two out of the five active coronavirus patients tested negative and were discharged.
This now brings the current number of active COVID-19 cases in Delta state to three.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that following the spread of coronavirus pandemic in some states of the federation, the fifth patient of COVID-19 in Delta state on Thursday, April 23, cried out that she is not positive of the ailment.
The patient maintained that she was only suffering from cough having been diagnosed with pneumonia in 2004.
The fifth patient lamented in an audio recording the poor living condition of the Warri isolation and treatment centre, where she is currently receiving treatment, adding that she was yet to see the test result confirming that she is COVID-19 positive.
