A granny aged 101 has become the latest centurion to beat the deadly coronavirus.
Angelina Freedman from New York, US, tested positive for COVID-19 on March 21 and had been suffering on and off fevers for weeks.
According to Daily Mail, Angelina did not only beat coronavirus but also survived the Spanish influenza pandemic of 1918 and defeated cancer.
Her family hailed her as a superhuman as no disease could put her down having also experienced miscarriages and sepsis before.
The granny was living in a nursing home in New York and had been taken to the hospital for a different medical procedure when she was discovered to have contracted the virus.
After weeks of uncertainty, she recovered from COVID-19 and was already looking for wool to knit.
'They tell me she’s doing great. She’s up and about as much as possible. She’s looking for wool to crochet with. If my mother could see this I’d tell her, 'You keep going, ma, you’re gonna outlive us all," her daughter, Joanne Merola, said.
Angelina's mother is said to have died giving birth to her aboard a ship that was taking immigrants from Italy to the US at the time of the second wave of the Spanish flu.
She was taken care of by her two sisters who were with her mother as told by her daughter Merola.
She got married to her husband and had a family but he also died of cancer.
At her age, she has outlived her other 10 siblings and is still going strong.
In other news, Ada Zanusso, the 104-year-old Italian woman that recently survived from coronavirus has recommended courage, strength and faith to battle the deadly disease.
The woman, who also survived the 1918 Spanish flu, said the three qualities served her well in her 104 years on earth.
