Kano state confirms 38 new COVID-19 cases

Thirty-eight (38) additional cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has been announced by the Kano state government.

Legit.ng gathered that the announcement was made by the Kano state Ministry of Health on Wednesday, April 29, in a tweet via its official Twitter handle.

The health ministry, while noting that no positive patient has recovered yet, stated that the total number of casualties from the pandemic in Kano state is three.

The state government announced that as of April 29, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state stands at 115.

It would be recalled that the Kano state Ministry of Health announced two new COVID-19 deaths in the state. The ministry disclosed this via its official Twitter handle on Monday, April 27.

“As at 12:15pm, 27th April, 2020, Kano state has recorded an additional 2 deaths of COVID-19,” the ministry tweeted.

Earlier, Legit.ng previously reported that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday night, April 28, announced 195 Covid-19 cases, the highest daily figure recorded so far by the agency.

In a series of tweets on its verified Twitter handle as at 11:50 pm, NCDC made the announcement as Nigeria's coronavirus cases tragically soared to 1532 figure benchmark.

According to the disease control agency, 80 of the cases were recorded in Lagos, with Kano coming second on the log with a whopping 38 cases - the highest reported so far since the outbreak of the virus in the state.

Similarly, a 15-man Chinese medical team brought to Nigeria to fight Covid-19 has tested negative to the pandemic following the completion of their mandatory 14-day quarantine.

Kano state govt reveals cause of mysterious deaths

Osagie Ehanire, the minister of health, who made this known on Tuesday, April 28, said the Chinese medical expert can now proceed on the assignment that brought them to the country.

The Chinese medical experts, against the wish of Nigerian doctors, arrived in Abuja with 16-ton test kits, ventilators, disinfection machine, disposable medical masks, pills, infrared thermometer and other items as requested for by the federal government.
