The UK's prime minister Boris Johnson's fiancee Carrie Symonds has given birth to a baby boy, the PM's spokesperson has revealed.
A brief statement released on Wednesday, April 29, indicated Symonds gave birth at a London hospital and the newborn was in good health.

Boris thanked the medics at the NHS maternity for the exceptional work that enabled his fiancee to deliver safely.
"The Prime Minister and Ms Symonds are thrilled to announce the birth of a healthy baby boy at a London hospital earlier this morning. Both mother and baby are doing very well.
The PM and Ms Symonds would like to thank the fantastic NHS maternity team," said the spokesperson as quoted by The Sun.
The news got many by surprise as Symond was expected to give birth in the summer though the date was not yet confirmed.
Boris is said to have stood by his fiancee during the entire period of delivery.
This came barely days after the PM was discharged from St Thomas' Hospital in London following a period in intensive care after being diagnosed with coronavirus.
The couple announced in February they were engaged to be married and were expecting a baby.

Legit.ng previously reported that Johnson released a statement outside the popular 10 Downing Street on coronavirus situation in the country.
This would be the first public appearance the prime minister would be making since he recovered from the deadly virus.
In his address, he told the country that the lockdown in the UK must continue. The prime minister also put out claims that he would be tabling an exit plan as early as this week.
