Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state has shared the encounter he had with her mother after he survived the deadly coronavirus.
According to the governor, his mother did not know that he tested positive for coronavirus but only knew that he was ill, Daily Trust reports.
Legit.ng notes that the governor said: “I went to her wearing my face mask and she asked why I was wearing a mask so I told her that it was a precautionary measure against the coronavirus. She asked why I was wearing the mask when I didn’t have the virus, this is because she had not been told I was infected, she was only told I had been ill, it was then that I told her that I had been sick but had recovered."

According to El-Rufai, he heeded his mother's instruction and removed his face mask. Then the woman asked: “What is this?”

The governor said: “So I told her I had not shaved for one month and she immediately asked me to shave it off and reminded me that my dad had never kept a beard till his death and that if my elder brother was not keeping a beard why was I?”
El-Rufai said he wanted to keep the beard because he was already fond of it, but he had to obey his mother's instruction so as to live in peace with her.

Legit.ng previously reported that Governor El-Rufai narrated the ordeal he endured in isolation while undergoing treatment for COVID-19 and how he contracted the virus.
El-Rufai disclosed on Tuesday, April 28, that he suffered serious headaches and fever within the first week of his isolation.
Speaking in a Hausa live media chat with selected radio stations in Kaduna, the governor said though he was not certain as to when or where exactly he contracted the virus, he suspected that he picked it up from Abuja where he attended several meetings.
