COVID-19: Deadly disease kills Nigerian man in UK

- A Facebook user, Seyi Fasugba, has announced the death of a Nigerian identified as Yemi Ogunsina

- Ogunsina, who died of coronavirus in London, was survived by four children

- According to Fasugba, the deceased was always willing and ready to offer assistance particularly on immigration issues

A Nigerian man identified as Yemi Ogunsina has died of the deadly coronavirus in the United Kingdom.

The disclosure was made on Monday, April 27, by a Facebook user named Seyi Fasugba, who said the deceased was always willing and ready to offer assistance to many Nigerians in London.

The deceased was survived by his four children.

Fasugba posted on Facebook: "Lost A Dependable Friend To Coronavirus In UK.

"Yemi Ogunsina, a childhood friend lived as an inspiration to many Nigerians in London, Birmingham. Always willing and ready to offer assistance particularly on immigration issues.

"He never survived the attack. Still in shock about this. Survived by an aged and his four children. Well, no one can question God. May his soul rest in peace."

In other news, a Nigerian healthcare worker identified as Ugonwa Okeke has lost her life to the deadly coronavirus while saving the lives of others in New Jersey, United States.

A Facebook user identified as Samson Idonigie broke the news of her death on his Facebook page on Tuesday, April 21.

Friends and family members took to the social media platform to mourn the health worker and mother of two. She was a graduate of the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN).

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that a couple who had been married for 60 years lost the battle to coronavirus within hours of each other after contracting the deadly disease.

Bryn and Pat Howells died at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital in Llantrisant, Wales, on Monday, April 13.

Despite not leaving their home for weeks due to the threat of coronavirus, the couple still contracted the disease.

Pat, aged 80, started feeling unwell on Saturday, April 4, after which her 86-year-old husband fell ill as well and they were both taken to hospital on Thursday, April 9, where they tested positive for coronavirus.

Sadly, Pat lost the battle to the disease at 2am on Monday, April 13, while and her husband died later that day at 7pm.

Grandson Elliot Howells commended the doctors and nurses who cared for his grandparents.

He said: "We are trying to take some comfort in the fact they died together, after 60 years of joyous marriage."
