Michelle Obama reportedly earned N14b from her memoir, set to release documentary

Life after the White House has no doubt been a productive run for former American first lady, Michelle Obama. While she has made it clear that she does not intend to run for office herself, she has been securing the bag and earning the love of more supporters.
The much-loved wife of former president Barrack Obama released a memoir titled Becoming in 2018 and according to business magazine Forbes, the book has sold over 10 million copies which translates to $36 million in profit for the former first lady.
“$36 million. That is how much Michelle Obama made from her memoir, 'Becoming,' after selling 10 million copies in 2019, making her the third-highest-paid author of last year,” a statement on the official Forbes Instagram page read in part.

However, that is not the only call Michelle is making. The former lady is also set to star in a documentary named after her book, which will be premiered on popular movie streaming network, Netflix.
The documentary follows the activities of Michelle during her book tour. It captures some of her interactions with people she met while she was on the book tour.
Sharing the news with her fans and followers on Instagram, Michelle said: "I’m excited to let you know that on May 6, @Netflix will release BECOMING, a documentary film directed by Nadia Hallgren that looks at my life and the experiences I had while touring following the release of my memoir."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Michelle admitted her marriage was rocky right after the girls were born.
The former first lady attended therapy sessions and realised it was not her husband's responsibility to make her happy.
The author added that at the end of the day, Obama was her friend and she was reminded why she fell in love with him. The two are now happy and stronger 27 years after walking down the aisle.
