It is indeed a proud moment for popular Nigerian singer and talent manager, Bankole Wellington aka Banky W, who has just been named among the 21 young Africans who have been selected for the 2020 Tutu Leadership Fellowship.

Banky W who delved into politics in 2018, when he made the announcement to contest for a seat in the House of Representative on the platform of Modern Democratic Party, seems to be gathering momentum for the next time he will make a run for public office.

The fellowship which is organized by the African Leadership Institute is a well-acclaimed platform for grooming and bringing together some of the continent’s best talents.

According to a statement by the organizers, more than 300 individuals were nominated for the fellowship from 36 African countries, with 21 finalists selected to take part.

"We received more than 300 nominees of outstanding quality from 36 African countries, from which 21 of Africa’s highest-potential young leaders were selected to take part in the programme," the statement read in part.

The organizers also disclosed that the current COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a postponement of the programme. However, activities will resume once it is safe again.
