John Obi Mikel clocked 33 on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 and his partner Olga Diyachenko gave him a pleasant surprise while observing their stay at home order.

The former Trabzonspor midfielder who recently terminated his contract with the Turkish club was quick to appreciate the gesture from his partner.

The father of twin daughters took to his Instagram handle to thank Olga for organizing a surprise birthday celebration for him.

“Thank you for all the kind messages and wishes! And thank you my love @olga_allegra for organising the most special surprise”

Mikel has been a free agent since he left Trabzonspor but the former Nigerian international has been attracting interest from Brazilian clubs.

The former Chelsea star hung up his boots for Nigeria shortly after the AFCON 2019 where the Super Eagles won bronze at the tournament.

However, Mikel is regarded as the most successful Nigerian player with Premier League trophies, FA Cup, the Europa League and the Champions League.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Kelechi Iheanacho is being linked with a move to Turkish giants Trabzonspor.

Reports coming in from Turkey claim the club want the Leicester City striker as a replacement for their Norwegian forward Alexander Sorloth.

Sorloth is currently on loan from Premier League side Crystal Palace and could make a return to the London club in the summer.

Brazilian stars Wesley and Joelinton who play for Aston Villa and Newcastle respectively have also been linked to the Turkish club.

Legit.ng had earlier reported that John Mikel Obi has agreed to terminate his contract with Trabzonspor after the team went on to play a league match despite the current fear of the Coronavirus, cited on Twitter.

Most of Europe's top leagues have postponed matches until April while some countries canceled games indefinitely.

But matches were played across various centers in the Turkish Super Lig and Mikel reportedly told his coach he does not want to feature in their weekend home game against Istanbul Basaksehir.
