US rapper Eminem celebrates 12 years of being sober with classy sobriety coin

US celebrated rapper Marshall Mathers popularly known as Eminem has showcased his 12th sobriety coin.
What this means is that the rapper has been able to stay for a good 12 years sober and clean away from hard substance.

Eminem shared the ring on his social media accounts on Tuesday, April 21, noting he had done a clean dozen and he was not afraid to show it.
"Clean dozen, in the books! I'm not afraid," he captioned.
The rapper was quoting his song Not Afraid which he talked about people being stronger and taking a stand.
Eminem has been marking the date every year with a similar photo while openly talking about his previous addiction.
The rapper was addicted to prescription pills Vicodin and even had tattoos of names of substance on his left arm.
Eminem has been sober since April 20, 2008, after having abusing drug earlier in 2007.
He once admitted to taking too many hard substances that he was not sure which he was taking, saying they were around 20 pills a day.
He was earlier on addicted to sleeping pills and went for rehabilitation treatment back in 2005.
He relapsed and even made an album in that honour.
The next time he was in rehab, it was in 2008 when he decided enough was enough and quit drug for good.
