Man decisively shuts down girlfriend asking for data amid COVID-19 lockdown

A woman called on her boyfriend in her hour of need, the request was a data bundle.
Perhaps he didn't like the request, maybe it was her tone, but he chose not to mince his words in his response.
He responded: "I don't want you to ask me for data next time. I feel disrespected. This is the first time a woman asks me for data in 5 years. I'm not your schoolmate kind of boyfriend."
A screenshot of their conversation somehow found its way on social media after Wolf (@madisemadisa) shared it via Twitter on Monday, April 20.
The tweet invoked a strong response, with many criticising the man for his forthright reaction.
MaMthembu (@vuvu_matshoba) said,
"In all fairness, he could have communicated this better. It was the first time eyicela and maybe she was trying him. Mna undiphoxe oluhlobo I'm never asking you for anything ever."
Sir Linc (@Gurulinc) took exception to the man's response:
"This guy is abusive af. It's your responsibility as a man to take care of your woman. He's not one of us... I guess he didn't attend men's conference."
Tana Patsa(@Tana_Patsa) added,
"Kakhulu, he comes across as arrogant. And this lady is polite or maybe she’s too desperate to keep the relationship. I would have put him in his place hey."
