Lockdown: Nigerian man shows off money he received from Canadian government (photos)

- A Nigerian man identified as Japhet Ikuni has shown off the sum of money he received from the Canadian government

- Japhet said that he got N888, 359 as financial aid

- The chemical engineer stated that the Nigerian government only told citizens in Diaspora to come back home that they would bear the flight cost

People over the world are using the coronavirus pandemic situation to weigh their government's responses to the citizens compared to other countries and Nigerians are in no way different.

As soon as the lockdown was announced across nations, some governments made a preparation of palliatives to send to their citizens. Infact, Nigerians in other countries have taken to their various social media pages to show off what they are enjoying in the countries where they are.

Legit.ng earlier reported that singer Runtown said that he got over N360k stimulus payment from the US government even after he was banned from the country for over two years.

Meanwhile, many Nigerians are still yet to get the relief materials the government promised them.

Taking to the popular micro-blogging platform, Twitter, a Nigerian man identified as Japhet Ikuni showed off the amount of money he received from the Canadian government.

According to Japhet, he received a deposit of N775, 860, a few days ago and also got another cheque of N112, 499, some days later as support during this global crisis.

Comparing the kind gesture of the Canadian government to the Nigerian government, the chemical engineer stated that the Nigerian government only told foreigners to come back home.

He stated that the Nigerian government told foreigners that they would bear their travel costs. According to Japhet, home is not where a person is born.

He revealed that it is where the leaders care about the person.

In other news, Legit.ng earlier reported that Gov Sanwo-Olu mulled lockdown review in Lagos state.

The Lagos governor expressed the intention of his administration to review the lockdown of the state. He made his plans known at the second virtual meeting with business owners in the state.

The governor assured them that strategic relaxation of the lockdown might be implemented.
