Nigerian businessman Willy Anumudu dies at 68

A Nigerian businessman, who is one of the top car dealers in the country, Willy Anumudu, has passed away at the age of 68.

Legit.ng came across the tragic news after top Nigerian journalist Dele Momodu announced it on his Instagram page. The journalist said the businessman tested negative for the virus a few days ago.

According to Momodu, Anumudu suffered some health challenges and he got tested for the virus but he tested negative. He was reportedly supposed to travel out of the country to Germany to get treatment.

However, on this Tuesday, April 21, the car dealer died around 4:00am when he was about to be flown out.

The businessman is survived by his wife, Nkiru Anumudu, and his four children, Uzoma, Eyinna, Zinna, and Zikky.

Momodu described the deceased as a good person who was friends with everybody. He also said he was a prominent Lagos socialite.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that three prominent Nigerians have died from the COVID-19 infection. The first prominent person on the list is Suleiman Achimugu, a former managing director of the Pipelines and Products Marketing Company (PPMC), a subsidiary of the NNPC who died from COVID-19.

The second prominent figure is Victor Ikwuemesi the chairman of the defunct Sosoliso Airlines. Ikwuemesi was reported to have died on April 14, 2020, in London, United Kingdom, after he was diagnosed with the coronavirus.

Abba Kyari, the chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, who died from complications of COVID-19 on Friday, April 17, was the third prominent person. Kyari had tested positive for the coronavirus in March after a trip to Germany and Egypt. The chief of staff was flown to Lagos state for treatment shortly after he tested positive for the deadly coronavirus.
